Dr. Steven Greer reported recently on the experience of some 200 people at Rio Rico, Arizona last October. The occasion was a group effort to contact Extraterrestrials. His group uses a protocol that has been developed over the past decade or so, and which appears to result in consistent appearances of UFOs.

I have been monitoring Dr. Greer’s efforts ever since the initiation of the Disclosure Project. (My copy of the disclosure project Washington Press Club revelations is on VHS tape.) After having listened to Dr. Greer’s report in the Rio Rico event and related developments, I realize that Dr. Greer’s consistent approach represents a major shift in UFOlogy.

Consciousness raising, remote viewing, and thoughtfully reaching out to trans-dimensional entities (or whoever they are), according to Dr. Greer and others who follow the protocol, if you can call it that, gets tangible, multiple-witnessed record-able results. Who else in the world of UFOlogy can make such a claim?

There are a few that I have not verified: those who use special night vision cameras to record UFOs almost at will, and individuals who seem to be followed by UFOs, who can predict when they will appear. James Gilliland is one such person. His ranch is a UFO hot spot. Interestingly, his attitudes and practices are similar to Dr. Greer’s.

Remote viewing is one protocol, developed by Ingo Swann primarily at SRI, that results in good data. It is one the the pillars of evidence that keeps parapsychology from being dismissed by the conservative scientific establishment. That Dr. Greer uses Remote Viewing indicates that his methodology is as sound as can be, given the stage of development of psychic research.

Although Dr. Greer’s language, practices and attitude might strike some as “religious”, “new age” or even “irrational”, the fact is that the old barriers between science and spirituality are crumbling rapidly, and are an impediment that can be dispensed with. The key, of course, is to not throw out rational thinking all together - just to know it’s limits.

The fact that Dr. Greer is consistently achieving results in consensus reality, in a field notorious for being difficult to research, is certainly a credit to him. More importantly, his results suggest that his values, priorities, theories and conceptual models may be useful and appropriate. If it is true that the phenomenon is directly linked with consciousness and conscious evolution, the Carl Jung is vindicated. He was the first to suggest that UFOs are related to consciousness and humanity’s psychic evolution.

This line of thought helps address a problem first raised by the UFO Iconoclast(s), otherwise known as the RRR Group, “a group of media guys”.

They argue, in a refutation of Dr. Jacques Valle’s “social control” hypothesis, that the UFO phenomenon has not made any difference at all in the evolution of humanity. They make some excellent points. It is notable, however, that UFOs have considerable impact upon individuals throughout history. That impact has sometimes, perhaps usually, been positive, or at least perturbing enough to initiate increased self reflection and awareness.

Does not the raising of consciousness of individuals translate into a raising of consciousness for all humanity? Perhaps, but not in ways that we can understand or perceive. Individual psychic growth is intensely personal and idiosyncratic, taking people along paths that seem to have nothing to do with preconceived ideas about spirituality or betterment. There could be a “tipping point”, whereby there is absolutely no perceptible impact of individual psychic evolution, until such time as circumstances or numbers make manifestation possible.

One proposition of exopsychology is that the Cosmic Perspective does indeed help foster both personal and global advancement. Increased awareness of, and thoughtful consideration of extraterrestrial life, encourages better stewardship of the planet, helps dissolve barriers between people, and promotes a review of priorities and values. What UFOs are remains a mystery. They are material and solid, (sort of, sometimes, apparently) yet they and their associated entities or consciousnesses, seem to respond to group psychic calls or manifestation. That, at least, is a good starting point for further research, and fostering of the Cosmic Perspective.
